Help us touch the lives of our young people through our community based Youth Initiative.

Over the past three years YTN has interacted with 1,500 teens in small groups and in individual interviews to unearth the factors underneath the loss of youth. We sought to answer a number of key questions, including:

1. Why has biblical literacy declined (because we are teaching less?)
2. Why are the teens deciding to leave the church and their youth groups?
3. What factors discourage teens in their pursuit of the Lord?
4. How are teens feeling about their faith?
5. What issues in the transition to life on their own snare our students?

We have built our community based youth initiative upon our findings that resulted from our work with teens, parents and pastors. The initiative seeks to come alongside community leaders in a strategic effort to bring awareness to the issues that are discouraging our young people in their faith. The effort includes symposiums on the loss of youth covering the research, insights and potential solutions. The effort extends based upon the symposiums in sessions for parents that can be conducted in churches, Christian schools or via strategic weekends. Such weekends would allow parents and teens to consider the issues together, rebuild their relationship and establish a course for a successful launch into life on their own.
